Clinical Social Worker

As a Clinical Social Worker, Denise is highly skilled and draws on evidence-based theories of biological, psychological and social development, diversity and cultural competency, interpersonal relationships, family and group dynamics, mental disorders, addictions, impacts of illness, trauma or injury and the effects of the physical, social and cultural environment.

She implements methods of prevention, assessment, and treatment/intervention with a special focus on bio-psychosocial and behavioural problems and disorders.

Denise's unique attributes include use of the person-in-environment perspective, respect for the primacy of client rights and strong therapeutic alliance with her clients. This knowledge is fused with direct-practice skills that she has developed over the years under the supervision of a senior social worker.  

The flexible and skillful application of knowledge, theories and methods of practice in a bio-psychosocial approach is a hallmark of just how Denise can help you. Interventions such as the direct person-to-person process is conducted with clients from all walks of life and range in nature from preventative, crisis and psycho-educational services to collaborative client advocacy and brief and long-term counselling and psychotherapy.  

Denise aims to help her clients manage their trauma, challenging behaviours and offer referral services where appropriate. She also connects clients with resources and offers guidance through difficult situations by providing individual counselling treatments.

NDIS Practitioner

Denise supports NDIS participants who have self & plan managed plans. She offers Capacity Building Supports as a Clinical Social Worker. She identifies and solves problems to strengthen the functioning and quality of life of individuals, families, and communities. Advocating for her clients' needs. 

Skilled at writing Holistic Functional Capacity Assessments and Reports, and other assessments whilst using up-to-date, evidence-based assessment instruments such as but not limited to:

  • biopsychosocial assessments 
  • risk assessments 
  • mental health assessments

Denise is trained with an objective view who has helped build healing and trusting relationships with clients. She offers different types of assistance, most frequently talk-based styles of therapy. Her counselling approach is a process of talking about and working through personal problems and implementing ways to better manage these.

EAP Counsellor

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free, short term, and strictly confidential counselling service. The aim of the program is to discuss any personal or work related issues. The program is offered via telehealth (over the phone). 

Some of the issues you can explore and get support on through EAP includes:

  • work-related issues - including work-life balance, conflict and interpersonal dynamics at work, career path and organisational change. 
  • life-related issues - including relationships, grief and bereavement, significant life changes, carer responsibilities and concerns about your children or family members. 
  • personal-health issues - including stress, depression, anxiety, addictions and chronic illness. 

We all need some guidance from time to time. Working with Denise can help you to develop tailored strategies that help enhance your wellbeing - both in and outside of work. 

You do not need to be in crisis to reach out for help.

As a life & career coach, Denise works collaboratively with her clients to help them reach their career goals and full potential. She has helped her clients with career planning, career changes, career advice and other career decisions.
